An eye to the future

The COVID-19 pandemic hit home for our ophthalmology practices in March 2020, closing our offices and surgicenters for all but emergency patients for 10 weeks. This was the reality for many of us. There was an atmosphere of generalized concern bordering on panic in many locations due to a fear of the unknown.

Scratched and sniffing

Eric Donnenfeld, MD, Rockville Centre, New York, said: This patient has three significant problems that are all likely contributing to his problem of glare and halo: IOL opacifications, hyperopic refractive error, and a fixed dilated pupil. The cataract surgery was otherwise done well and the 1-piece acrylic IOL is in the bag.
